“Today the excitement was in the battle for pole and all drivers qualifying times were set on the soft compound Bridgestone Potenza. Tyre performance was similar to Friday with the medium offering excellent consistency and the soft offering a higher grip and faster initial lap time. The choice for tyre strategy for the front runners should not be too difficult, but for drivers who have not qualified near their usual position different strategies could come into play. Am remarcat si eu ca sunt unele zone in care s-a asfaltat din nou. Chiar si Kimi a declarat la conferinta de presa de ieri ca asfaltul nou turnat este mai abraziv decat cel de anul trecut. In aceste conditii, daca va ploua si pilotii vor fi nevoiti sa schimbe pneurile pentru cele wet, este posibil sa avem ceva surprize in timpul cursei. Bridgestone au date pentru acest circuit, insa dateaza din anii trecuti, cand s-au folosit aceste pneuri. Iar acum, cu noul asfalt si mai ales datorita faptului ca in acest sezon nu s-a disputat nicio cursa pe ploaie, se poate sa avem ceva surprize atat placute cat si neplacute. Totul depinde de setup-ul monoposturilor. Daca este unul agresiv si deci chinuitor pentru pneurile de uscat, acum, cu noul asfalt mai abraziv, uzura pneurilor wet poate atinge valori ridicate in doar cateva tururi, punand in dificultate strategiile echipelor si prestatia pilotilor. Sa speram totusi ca nu va ploua.
